My Story

Two Homes, One Passion

Born in Buenos Aires. At five, my family moved to Los Tres Petisos – our pony and cattle estancia. There, among pastures and fire, lie my earliest real memories.

Los Tres Petisos

When I was seven, my mother gave me a cow: Bambi. I raised her by bottle, like a young gaucho, and even then I knew what I wanted to become – a cattle rancher, with my own estancia one day. Bambi later had calves, then grandcalves – they're the ones you still see in our logo today, together with me on Guapo, my first horse. On him, I learned to ride long before I understood what freedom really meant.

The Departure

In 2000, my parents and I left Argentina – the crisis made the future there uncertain. We went to Germany, and later I moved on to Austria, which became my home. I had everything one could wish for. And yet something was missing that I couldn't name for a long time.

The Reconnection

A few years ago, in Tarifa, this part of me came closer again – the Argentine side I had kept small for all those years. My childhood nickname "Maqui" also returned around that time, almost on its own. Since then, I've given that side of me more room.

A trip to Argentina took me back to my roots – most recently for two months, including time in Patagonia, in the vastness, with family and friends. Something finally came together there. I promised myself: to build a bridge between my new home, Vienna, and my old home, Argentina. Meat and fire had always been my language – riding always meant freedom to me, asado always meant togetherness.

MaquiBeef Is Born

After the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, it became clear to me what I had to do. Friends had told me often enough: do something in this space – you can see the joy in you when you talk about it. And so MaquiBeef was born: not just a meat shop, but my bridge between two worlds that were really always one. To this day, friends tell me they've never tasted a chimichurri like "a la Maqui" – to me, that's proof that something real is behind this.

To me, MaquiBeef was never just a meat shop. It's my way of bringing the Argentinian Experience to Vienna – the passion and knowledge I've carried since childhood, straight to your grill. Every piece you order from us is a piece of that passion.
